Open days
Having a look round a university is a really good idea, particularly as you are making such a big financial investment. Make sure you visit at least one of your choices before you submit an application. Visit more if you can. Details are published on individual websites, and it is common for at least 2 open days to be held per year, generally speaking in May/June and in September/October. Sometimes subject specific days are held.
Some universities require visitors to book and places fill up quickly so it is advisable to plan well in advance.
